WELCOME & OVERVIEW

  • The BOBCATS (Bend Oregon Bicycle Club and Tandem Society) are delighted to sponsor the 20th annual NWTR to be held July 1st through July 4th, 2005 in Bend, Oregon. Check out the different pages of our website for information on accommodations, routes and rally activities, as well as events and tourist attractions available in Bend and surrounding Central Oregon.

Our venue is the beautiful Summit High School. Located on Bend's west side, Summit is surrounded by stunning views of the Cascades. For those of you who have not yet been fortunate enough to visit this area, Bend is a major tourist and recreation destination in the northwest. A city of 60,000 that rests at 3,600 feet above sea level, Bend boasts more than 275 restaurants, lovely views of the mountains, and quick access to an abundance of outdoor activities.

We have reserved blocks of hotel rooms at special NWTR rates for rally attendees. For outdoor lovers, camping and RV parking is available at Summit High School, the starting venue for supported rides. See "Where to stay" for detailed information.

Be sure to save time for the special evening events. Apres-ride on Saturday we'll have an old-fashioned Ice Cream Social and Vendor Fair at Summit High. Sunday night is the Rally Banquet BBQ to be held under the stars at the lovely Old Mill District near downtown Bend.

PROCEEDS & SUPPORT

  • Proceeds from the registration fees will benefit the Athletic and Activities fund of the Bend LaPine School District. The local "Pay to Play" fees for children to participate in after school sports have become unaffordable for many children and families. Participation in school sports is a huge self-esteem boost for our youth and a great way to improve fitness, grades and decrease dropout rates. Our proceeds will help pay sports related fees for underprivileged children who cannot afford the "pay to play" fees.

A QUICK REMINDER

  • Helmets are required for all participants on all scheduled rides.
